I am Flash. I have been part of the pup community for over twenty years, long enough to have watched it grow, change, fracture, and find itself again. In May 2022 I founded Kennel Klub South in Brighton, because this city needed a home for its pack.

For most of those years I thought I was doing fine. I was not. Four years ago I broke beyond what I could fix on my own and started therapy. That decision changed everything, not just how I understood myself, but how I understood the community I had spent over two decades inside.

I am a certified Mental Health First Aider through St Johns Ambulance and a Trauma-Informed Coach certified with The Centre for Healing, accredited CPD and ICAHP. I qualified in September 2025. I have presented Pawsitivity and Play, a mental wellness talk built specifically for the pup community, at Doggy Weekend for three consecutive years. This October will be the fourth. This site, and The Hard Questions series, grew directly out of that work.

I am also a qualified puppy trainer, working toward dog training and canine behaviour and psychology qualifications. That is not a coincidence. I am an Alpha in the pup community and a proto-handler, someone slowly learning what it means to hold that responsibility well. Understanding how actual dogs think and behave informs how I understand pup dynamics, headspace, and the psychology of what we do.

This site exists because I was exhausted by content disappearing into algorithms. Pups deserve somewhere permanent to go. Somewhere honest. Written by someone who has sat in the same discomfort and asked the same hard questions.

That is what this is.
